Hello Bethany Bobcats..

Do you love reading? Do you love trivia? Well, here is a fun team building competition that combines reading and trivia - Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB)! 

You can read a list of books put together by Oregon Association of School Libraries for grades 3-5 division and “battle “against other teams from our school using trivia questions about the books.

This year we are reading only 15 books out of the list of 16.    Ten by Shamini Flint has been taken off the reading list due to publishing issues.

Registration for Oregon Battle of the Books 2022-23 will be open online November 7-30, 2022. All team members must register individually and each team must have 4 members.  Members of a team must be in the same grade but may be from different classes.

On November 30th all students who registered and their parents will be notified by email. 

We will conduct some fun battles early January to go over rules of the competition, learn proper etiquette and sportsmanship.

The battle schedule will be posted on the Bethany Elementary website in January. The winning team will represent Bethany Elementary School at the Regional competitions.

The window for 2023 Regional tournaments is February 25-March 18.

The state tournament will be held on Saturday April 15th, 2023 at Chemeketa Community College in Salem.
